No Idea how Dating Works? Have a Dating-Blog!
Recently, I came across a few blogs where the self-proclaimed “experts“ write really lousy stuff – and although some claim to be (or have been) in the dating business for years – I simply don´t believe them.
Dating is – and has always been – a cultural effort. The only reason why we are dating, is to find a soul mate – and probably someone whom we will marry. Sure, you need to try this first. Sure, there will be some ONS. But this is not the main reason why people join dating-sites.
Yes – dating can be fun – and it should be fun, indeed. But to many people writing blogs and newspaper articles compare us with a bunch of teenagers – which we aren´t. Maybe some of the authors are simply to young to understand, what dating means when you are over 30 and you do not expect to sit in front of your computer for hours, just chatting for fun – with or without the web cam on.
Most of us over 30 do not have time to have a date every week – so we want to rely on the facts people give us in their personal profiles. Most of the people I know do not live in the big cities, where you can just have a coffee or a date at lunch time. Most men in their 30th or 40th do not even want to date all those blond girls, who date men regularly every week or fortnight and “have some fun“ with them. Some men even hate those “date collecting“ ladies – even if they give them sex in return for the dinner.
Maybe dating is game – but it is not a gamble. Some men have long-distance-dates traveling 1000 miles just to meet a lady who seems to be promising. I never heard about such men in Blogs. All I can read in recent blogs is: “Someone told me that“, or “I read in a newspaper that“. So, why then do they write Blogs about dating? I think some of them better switch to celebrities. “I heard that Britney was“ or “I read in newspaper that Paris told …“.
So what do you think?
