God – What Does He Think About Sex?
There is only one master rule for the folks who believe in the God of the Bible, which religious people call the “Holy Bible“:
“And God blessed them; and God said unto them: ‚Be fruitful, and multiply´…“
(Genesis).
Sure, when Moses came down from mount SINAI, he told the people in the name of God:
“Thou shalt not commit adultery“.
But – what was adultery in those days? You where allowed to have sex with female servants and slaves – and of course with strangers from other ethnics. Nobody would care as long as you would not pray to their gods and goddesses.
Later, we heard from Jesus, that adultery is not just having sex with the wife of another Jew, but the desire to have sex with a person you are looking at.
„Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.“
Usually, this is interpreted by the Roman Catholic Church and some Protestants, that it is not allowed to have such thoughts – but in real, Jesus just told the people that, as a married man, it is not allowed to have sexual desires if you look at female servants, slaves or strangers – which where not covered by the rules transferred by Moses.
So is God against Sex? No – never. If you believe in him as the creator of the world and of mankind – then you must believe, that sex is one of the good things God gave to us.
