eHarmony and Europe – a happy marriage?
As many of you many know, the eHarmony concept is bases on a matching system. eHarmony claims in the USA, that “the algorithms … are based upon hundreds of personality questions tested on 5,000 married couples.“ You may call this science or not – but people develop, even in the USA. And the answer from yesterday may not be true for today as well – which is one important question as far as the US are concerned.
But what if eHarmony joins the Chinese market, or the German or French market? American Values (even martial values) may fail in China and France – and as eHarmony can not change the companies concept, the personal tests have to be re-developed for each country.
Maybe they can do it – and maybe they can´t – but it will be difficult, as the competition is strong and the native companies in most countries know better what the “martial values“ are than an American company does. So there are doubts that eHarmony and Europe will have a “happy marriage“.
